Pasture Buddies

The Heart of a Horse

In October, 2001, a Halynov son ran into a tree branch in pasture and drove a 3 inch stick into his head. Although we were told to put him down, Scimitar did not agree with the doctors' prognoses and kept up his spirits, his will to live and to fully recover. He has been an inspiration to us all.
After being down for four months with vertigo, he recuperated but now has weakness from being down so long and a fear of falling; he doesn't want to hit his head again.

The Anderson Sling was graciously loaned to us by Alamo Pintado and a pictoral history of the sling's incredible use can be found by clicking on this link or his picture. There is also the story of Scimitar, although it is far from finished. I will update as I can grab the time -- so elusive these days.
