16.2hh Russian-bred TLA Halynov has bred and produced winning sport horses since 1989. Although he is internationally known in the endurance race circles, he also has produced winning offspring in the hunter/jumper, dressage, race, yes, and even halter circles (who says you can't have beauty and function!) Please visit our About Our Stallion page for more information about his winning offspring and his Show Record page to learn about his show career. You can also click on the buttons below to see his pedigree and show record.
Halynov's frozen semen is no longer available, as the last of it was purchased by Dr. Jim Marinakis who is using it to reproduce another stallion who is almost a "clone" of our dear friend. Thus far, he has produced a beautiful filly from part of the shipment and plans to rebreed for a stallion with all of Halynov's size and athletic ability. The filly is gorgeous and looks like Halynov (with the obvious difference of sex). We are really pulling for Jim to accomplish his goal as his aim is to produce Olympic Champion Jumpers -- something that we came very close to doing with Halynov. Jim's first offspring was produced in 2007 with an exceptional mare; we are keeping fingers crossed for a colt in 2008!
Our Stallions Hal's Riverdance, IIWP Solstar, and WOA Romanov
Our Halynov son Hal's Riverdance is producing the same quality and type as his sire and we invite you to view his video and judge for yourselves. Riverdance is an AWESOME producer thus far. Please visit his Riverdance's home page and look at those babies! We are also standing our exceptional Explodent son IIWP Solstar - please visit Solstar's home page for more information about this special guy -- and our youngest stallion WOA Romanov (who will soon be at 16h himself!) who had his first foal crop this year -- and are they ever outstanding! Please check out Romanov's home page as well. We will be writing more about these 2 stallions as we have time (between working out in the pasture, feeding it in one end and shoveling it out from the other). Please fill out our form if you would like Dancer's/Romanov's/Solstar's video or call me at 805-239-ARAB (2722) for any additional information and to request a video and breeding contract.Remember to check out our mare's and consider our lease mare program if you would like to have a breeding to Hal or one of our other stallions and as yet have not found a mare with the quality which you would like.

Hal's Riverdance's is a SWEEPSTAKES NOMINATED SIRE yet we've kept his stud fee down at $1500 to afford more people the opportunity to breed to a stallion of his quality. We also give special discounts offered for show/race homes, multiple and early bookings. We will be heavily campaigning him in the sport horse shows and also qualifying him as a Trakehner sire later this year so it is imperative that we have ample notice of when semen will be needed. We can collect on the road, if need-be, so long as we can prepare for the possibility.
Whether the breeding is by natural cover or by shipped cooled semen, there is a live foal guarantee for all of our stallions. For frozen semen, necessary for overseas shipments, the additional vet charges would be absorbed by the mare owner. Solstar is the new foundation stallion of Sri Lanka, which requested frozen semen to help repopulate all the native horses this country loss during the devastating Tsunami. Read more on Solstar's home page.
To help keep costs down for the mare owner, we do not charge a rental fee for the use of our equitainers (usually anywhere from $150-$250 a shipment); however, we have had so much difficulty with prompt return of our equitainers, we have been forced to charge a $300.00 deposit fee which will be refunded upon prompt return of the equitainer (the equitainer is to be returned by 2-day priority mail) after deduction of the shipping costs. This is to insure that none of our clients miss out on their breeding cycles due to neglect of others. We did have to purchase additional equitainers to meet last year's demands and appreciate timely projections so that we can insure we are well prepared for this breeding season. The boy is very willing; Mark and I just have to be sure we are prepared for the logistics. All fees and deposits need to be paid in full prior to first shipment.
We are one of the few breeders, or perhaps the only breeder, who does not charge an additional $250-$500 booking fee on top of the stud fee. in fact, as Solstar is still on our ranch, we include the first two shipments (2 baggy's each) in our stud fee. As both Riverdance and Romanov are out of town/state in training, we are forced to pass on those collection fees to the breeder; however, the fees do not exceed $250 each for a 2 baggy shipment.
The mare owner is responsible for all shipping costs. We encourage the selection of a veterinarian who specializes in reproduction in order to cut down the costs by pinpointing the time of mare ovulation. Although our stallions' semen has incredible motility and count, they cannot settle a mare who is bred off cycle, has an infection, or is past her breeding capabilities.
Mare care is available for those who prefer natural cover for their mares. We welcome visitors and we are in wine tasting country and close to Hearst Castle! In fact, before she passed on, Mrs. William Randolph Hearst Jr. bred her 4 best hunter/jumper mares to Halynov. One of those offspring went to the track and won his maiden race by 7 1/2 lengths!!!
